SCP Salon 4: Mothman, by Adam Pernell Deal

A psychedelic interpretation of Mothman, the infamous cryptid of West Virginia folklore, by Adam Pernell Deal– an illustrator/painter who lives in Knoxville, Tennessee. His unorthodox renderings reflect worlds and scenarios unseen by most outside their dreams. His imaginative style and complicated imagery emanate joy and pain, but most of all, a longing for something impossible to possess. When not designing sets for true crime television, his preferred medium is a combination of ink and watercolor. Unless under the direction of a particular project, he’ll usually rely on his unconscious mind to guide his hand; a technique referred to as surrealist automatism. The result: bewildering landscapes of strange geometry and bizarre figures that blur the lines between flesh and smoke.
